Maureen Luba

 

Maureen Luba, is a tireless advocate for HIV prevention and treatment and a passionate champion for young women’s health and rights. She is a board Member of the International Partnership for Microbicides where she represents the voices of young African women. She is also a member of the Malawi National Health Science Research Committee whose mandate is to promote, support, coordinate, and regulate research and development in Malawi. She recently joined the Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise Advisory Group where she alongside other experts is committed to the work of the Enterprise. In 2015 she was named one of the Global Change women leaders by Coady institute because of her passion for community development. She is also a 2015 AVAC alumni. She is currently working as the African Region Advocacy Advisor for AVAC, coordinating a Regional Advocacy project, COMPASS, that aims at building the capacity and enhancing the participation of Civil Society Coalitions in Malawi, Tanzania and Zimbabwe in Global Fund, PEPFAR and National Government decision making processes.
